The Krishnan Nair group had its beginnings in 1911, when the late SRI. M.R. Krishnan Nair set up an outlet in Alappuzha, for the sales and service of watches, wall-clocks and time pieces. He was a watch maker. With his courteous service and honest dealings as well as firmly believing in the motto “the customer is king” he quickly acquired a vast happy and satisfied clientele, such that, at the time of his demise in 1948, he had made Krishnan Nair and sons a household name in central Travancore.
